Frequently Asked Questions
When and where do you meet?
Our largest weekly group gatherings are our Sunday morning worship services. We have two identical services each Sunday morning at 8:30am and 10:45am.
Sunday school classes for all ages take place between these services, from 9:50-10:35am.
We also offer a variety of midweek groups for the whole family on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:30pm.
We are located on the corner of Allison and Leitersburg Streets, at 146 Leitersburg Street in Greencastle, PA.
What should I wear?
Most people dress in business casual-type attire, but we have a range of dress based on individual preference. Some prefer to be dressed up (yes, you’ll see some suits and ties), while some prefer the more casual dress of jeans or shorts.
What is the worship service like?
Our worship services are a blend of traditional and contemporary. We sing together, and you’ll hear some old hymns and some modern worship songs. We pray together. We engage our heads and hearts while listening to a sermon.
While many parts of our worship together are traditional in style, our atmosphere is very people-centric. You can expect to see the congregation talking with one another before and after the service. And you can expect to hear a few jokes.
What is “Sunday school”?
Our Sunday school classes are opportunities to gather with a smaller group of people to study the Bible, discuss your questions, and wrestle through the practical implications of what we believe. They are opportunities to take relationships further and share prayer needs. Ultimately, we hope these study groups are a helpful step in your journey to be formed in the way of Jesus.
What do I do with my kids?
We provide a staffed nursery during each Sunday morning service and Sunday school for children from birth to age 4. Our volunteers have been vetted by our child safety team and have their state-appropriate clearances. They would love the opportunity to care for and play with your child on Sunday morning!
We welcome children over age 4 to participate with you in the sanctuary during the worship service. We provide colored pencils and children’s bulletins, and many families also bring their own materials to keep quietly busy, like coloring books, sticker activities, quiet building toys, etc.
Every other week, Pastor Rob invites the children to the front of the sanctuary for a children’s story, and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, beginning at 9am, children age 4 through 6th grade enjoy their own “children’s church” in the basement, with a Bible story, craft, and snack.
We offer Sunday school classes for all ages during the Sunday school hour. These classes provide fun opportunities for children to learn about Jesus and engage with the Bible with other caring adults. All of our volunteers have been vetted by our child safety team and have their state-appropriate clearances.
Is your building accessible to those with disabilities?
Yes! We have an elevator with doors at the upper level (for sanctuary and church office access), the carport entryway (for parking lot access), and the lower level (for classroom and multipurpose room access).
If you prefer, you are also welcome to enter through the doors at the upper level. Your companion can drop you off, or we can park your car for you in the lower parking lot.
If you need any mobility assistance, our greeting team is eager to help!
Can I bring my coffee?
We kindly ask you to finish your coffee before the worship service. (Water is okay in the sanctuary.)
If you need another caffeine break, we offer coffee in the basement level between the first worship service and Sunday school. Please stop by for a cup and say hello!
Should I bring a Bible?
We love studying God’s word together, and we welcome you to bring your Bible (or the Bible app on your phone) to better follow along during the sermon or your Sunday school class of choice. If you don’t have a Bible, don’t worry! We have some available for you if you need one.
